He is absolutely right. I am 66 and everything he says is right on. Rational, well-reasoned, sound, and practical.

Re: A woman defends her castle - multiple inside videos
True! Related, but different critters. But if those housecats hadn't been so selfish (they wouldn't be cats...) - they could have take out those intruders handily! The noticed them real early and could easily have gotten underfoot, tripped them, and used their claws to make them sorry they ever brok...

Re: A woman defends her castle - multiple inside videos
Cats have fangs and claws. We usually keep our claws retracted, but they come out instantly when needed. As far as more range time / happier ending - the good guys are safe, the bad guys ran, nobody got dead and nobody got arrested. Getting thrown in jail for shooting someone - even if later found n...

Re: No, You Can't Slap Cuffs on Peaceful Gun Owners
RoyGBiv, thanks for the link about Evan Bernick; ".. educate the public and persuade judges about the need to enforce all of the Constitution’s limits on government in every case." I should have looked more carefully and found that myself. I did not see the column as anti-LEO, only as pro-...

Re: No, You Can't Slap Cuffs on Peaceful Gun Owners
Almost didn't read it when I saw the link to HuffPo. I was surprised they didn't use the incident to attack gun owners and open carry. Exactly! I stumbled on the link, don't normally read that site, and really wonder what I'm missing. The column seemed rational and not anti- at all; can't figure it.

No, You Can't Slap Cuffs on Peaceful Gun Owners
This may be in the wrong Forum, but it is related to an LEO contact. Read a column titled: Federal Appeals Court to Police Officer: No, You Can't Slap Cuffs on Peaceful Gun Owners - the URL is http://www.huffingtonpost.com/evan-bernick/federal-appeals-court-to_b_7284562.html (look where it was poste...

Re: Introduce yourself
Welcome Legionnaire! I recognize you from Firing Line.
This is a great forum, lots of very well-informed and friendly people.
I read much, post little, because usually someone who knows more will be by shortly with better information.
Have fun!

Re: FSB pinning to melonite coated virgin barrel
At the risk of having misunderstood your question, I'll suggest that you can drill and pin the fsb to the barrel with a fixture and dril press, but if your main concern is accuracy, you may want to use a free-float tube over the barrel and under the handguards, or just use a free-float tube with rai...

Re: Congressman may face DC police probe due to gun in offic
One of the problems with heading to another country is that there really are no other countries that are better. In Hitler's Germany, Jews could escape to America and in that particular situation most countries were probably better. The same was true after the war for those people living in Soviet ...

VoiceofReason, I think you and I share some of the same concerns, and I think it is a matter of perspective. I am old, tired, grey, wrinkled, deaf, and don't see my front sight so well anymore - or anything else, for that matter. Reading the news overwhelms me with despair, for my blessed USA and fo...

Randy, I'm not a lawyer or an expert, but I think you are worrying over nothing. I'm only replying because nobody else has yet, and you seem like you need some reassurance. Someone who can give specifics - like, 'they only look for minor brushes with the law that are less than 5 years old' - will be...

Seems the DC cops are ok with it: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/gop-ers-ken-buck-trey-gowdy-snap-photo-holding-ar-15-rifle-article-1.2193445 in his ppower - Spirited debate is good. Life would be boring if everyone agreed on everything. And, for all the people pining for "the good ol...
