Re: Guess I wasn't discreet enough! Thoughts?

As always, good advice and pointers to a new person. TAM, I like your suggestion about FAQs. I always perform a search, but it's hard to pin-point the exact question!

Guess I wasn't discreet enough! Thoughts?

A fellow came to the door tonight when I was home with my three young children. They all ran to the door and I told them not to answer it. They were seen, obviously, by the man. While they were staring through the window, I was pocketing my Sig P938. He had backed off the porch, so I answered the do...

Re: Close Encounter?

As a result of a different post here I'm reading Rory Miller's "Facing Violence". It's an excellent read so far and gives one insight into the thought processes of those who would perpetrate violence. One interesting idea is that most of us are taught to be polite, especially to strangers....

Re: Going to Disney World!

We're going in February, so I appreciate the post and any updates. Question: I hold a Texas CHL which prohibits carry into an amusement park. Well, since I'm licensed in Texas, under Texas rules, does reciprocity mean that I'm prohibited from carrying into an amusement park in a different state even...

Unless you were born here, you are a guest. Treat it accordingly. :txflag:
Careful with the 'Native Texan' stuff. Unless you're a Native American you could be subject to the same criticism...it's what you bring more than where you were born.

Re: Bob Costas anti-gun rant

It seems that with a little introspection the NCAA and NFL (NBA, MLB, NHL, etc.) would realize that the system is pushing these young men into bad positions. They get recruited in high school, put on a pedestal in college, given millions of dollars, and never expect them to learn anything more than ...

Re: Bob Costas anti-gun rant

:banghead: An expansion of the initial thoughts from Costas and Whitlock...now apparently the NRA is the new KKK. "I believe the NRA is the new KKK," Whitlock said. "And that the arming of so many black youths, and loading up our community with drugs, and then just having an open shoo...

If you haven't seen it, here is a nicely written rebuttal to Mr. Whitlock's rant by Jen Floyd Engel:

Yes, because I went back to the FFL to ensure that he understood I was talking about an interstate transfer...

Re: Transporting Personal Firearms Across State Lines?

Just talked to an FFL who contacted the BATFE to get a ruling on the situation. According to the FFL, per conversation with the BATFE, no transfer is required, it's a private transaction. This is too difficult, I think I'll just have him sell the firearms and pay me cash. Now, would that require a t...

FFL Transfer needed for inter-state transactions?

I'm hoping one of you FFL can help settle a debate that is raging on another thread: http://texaschlforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=59713 My father in law from Michigan is planning to give me several firearms. He plans to drive them down. I don't know if they are registered in Michigan, several ar...
