Re: Case lube and stuck cases - darnit
And I'm just now trying out spray lube. Hmmm ... For years I used the Lee lube that came in a tube for most of my cases. I'd squeeze some onto an old Army brown towel, dump cases in the middle, and roll them back and forth. Worked pretty well. For my "precision" rifle loads, I used RCBS l...

Re: Noob to Reloading
First round was a bit sluggish in chambering as compared to Lake City, unsure why as they are the same overall length. Maybe just a difference in spring tension on the enbloc? That's what you get when you neck-size only; the brass has been fire-formed to your chamber, so it will fit the chamber mor...

Re: Getting started.
Thanks AndyC for mentioning the first two, they were already on my list, as for the Hornady why do you recommend it in particular? In the way back I also used to use some spiral bound manuals that were specific to the cartridge I was loading but I can't remember the name of those. I think the name ...

Re: Need Help with Rifle!
For what it's worth, I shot my first (and so far, only) deer with a Mosin-Nagant 91/30. Not that I'd say go out and buy a Mosin-Nagant for hunting, but I used what I had and it was a gun I was quite proficient with. That's the real thing. Whatever you choose, get to know your gun well, and get good ...

Re: Hodgdon CFE223 powder???
Just took a look at their data for .223, and boy does it look nice. Max load with a 55-grainer looks to push along at 3329 fps. They have load data for my hunting bullet, a 70 grain SP from Speer, and their published data shows 2900 fps at the top end of the data. That's likely with a 24" barre...

Re: Hodgdon CFE223 powder???
Anyone tried this? How is it's accuracy in 223/5.56 loads and does the fouling reduction live up to claims? I finally got an AR built and the only powder I have really suitable is H4895...and it doesn't meter well, bridging constantly in the small case. :mad5 http://www.hodgdon.com/rifle.html Accor...

Re: Hog Hunter's -- Your help please.
I've considered the .458 for an AR build, but I don't have enough purpose to justify the cost right now and parts are still relatively limited. I'm leaning towards .300 BLK for the build I have planned for next year, just because of the parts interchangeability with my 5.56 AR. If the market opens ...

Re: Advice? low recoil 12 ga 00
Rather than change ammo, I suggest perhaps changing out the buttstock for a Knoxx Specops. I put one on my 870, and it is the absolute best gun accessory purchase I've ever made. It makes 3" magnum slugs feel like 2 3/4" birdshot loads. It's really amazing. Also, the stock is collapsible M...

That's a fine-looking rifle you have there flint. I especially like the piggy graphic on the side of the lower. Re: Remington UMC Squib
I had the same thing happen a couple years back with a 9mm round out of a 100-round bulk box of WWB. Unlike Remington, Winchester provides no avenue for contact. I checked their site - no phone number, no contact form, no e-mail address, nothing. I think I was finally able to find a snail mail addr...

Re: Making subsonic .223
IF I were going to do this, I'd go with the Trail Boss powder. It was made for this exact purpose - safe low velocity "cowboy" loads. It's very bulky, so you avoid the potential of detonation that you would have with such reduced loads with ordinary powders. While it's designed to work bes...

Re: PSA LOWERS ON SALE FOR $49.95!!
Mine made it to my FFL's door on 09/16. Unfortunately, he was not there to receive them, but he picked them up from the post office a few days later. I picked them up this evening, they look good. Sequential serial numbers on mine, as well. Now they go on the shelf until sometime next year when I ge...

Yeah, I wanted to keep the standard FSB, so I found a handguard made for a mid-length gas system. Larue makes a 9" version of the handguard you linked, which should allow you go keep the FSB as it is and use the free-float: http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/LaRue-Tactical-9-0-Handguard-LT15-9-p/l...
