Re: Wish List - for a new home
Gas cooking with extra gas outlets in the hall closet, master bath and spaced throughout the house. If you live in a rural area that loses power, you loose heat - pipes freeze. When we plumbed a house for gas would make it ready to add a gas space heater in areas that would allow use of vent free ga...

Re: Poison Sumac help
My wife swears by washing with Dawn soap with a good wash rag, this cuts the oils left on the skin even after a couple of days and seems to work well for all of us. If the itching is really bad wipe with white vinegar for instant relief.

Re: Hesitant on applying for job because of my tin foil hat.
Depending upon the level of trust the job has you may even have to open up your bank accounts so they can verify you are living within your means. Unfortunately the better the job the more intense the background check is. Just be honest and good luck!

Re: Collin County Fire Marshal making up "laws"
Like they said find out the code they are referring to and have a good lawyer write the Fire Marshall to put them on notice. Not sure, but I believe Fire Marshall's have the same authority to arrest as a peace office does since they do investigations so always be gracious and polite. Then decide if ...

Re: Enforcement of 'Straw Purchase'
My son who was 19 at the time found a shotgun on sale at Ba** Pro and I had agreed to pay for half. He had done everything, did his research, made a decision with all the shotguns, passed the background check and when it came time to pay I pulled out 1/2 the purchase price in cash in front of the ca...

Service Members must disclose private firearms
Commanders, chaplains and health professionals are now specifically authorized to ask troops they think are at risk for hurting themselves or others about privately owned firearms. The authorization is part of the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, which contains provisions dealing with numero...

Re: Question regarding legal ownership
I would go to my local PD and have them do a NCIS check on myself and look at what is there. When doing the CHL the same records will be reviewed and any issues can be addressed before hand.

First Texas Ranger I remembered seeing, had a 1911 in Condition One on his belt. Definitely made me feel he was ready to react back when I was younger (around 1995). Was very nice and dressed just as professional.

Re: Pediatricians asking parents about gun ownership
I went to my family physician that we have used for 15 years now for my annual physical. At the beginning of the exam I had to fill out a questionnaire that was provided by his supporting hospital that asked if I felt safe at home, and if not why. No gun questions but a first step maybe.
