Re: Robbery-murder in Galveston
A 10 year old minor may not understand the consequences of his actions, but at the age of 16 (unless mentally incompetent) you know exactly what you are getting yourself in to. I say certify them as adults and at least give them life in prison unless they had no idea what was taking place and were ...

Re: going out for dinner and having one drink
I break it down and lock it up in the car if I am planning on drinking, but I rarely drink. I'd rather stay sober & safer.

Re: Does CHL come up with license plate check?
This is slightly off topic, however I appear to have had my front license plate on my car fall off and I just noticed it today. Do I *have* to have a front license plate in Texas? A google search has turned up both yes and no answers. They are required in Texas. However, IMHO, this law does not see...

You did good. Grats!
I tried carrying IWB at 4 o'clock but it cuts into my back too much in my vehicles. I always carry at 2 o'clock now and I love it. I think in your situation it would be easier for me to draw on an intruder getting into the passenger seat.

I try to do the same, but there are different levels of preparedness, right? You can't stay in condition red 100% of the time, can you? Condition red means that you have identified an imminent threat. Actually, Orange means you have identified the threat, and Red means you have engaged him (or her).

I walked into the bank the other day with a zip-up jogging jacket covering my IWB holstered pistol. Planning to keep the jacket zipped, I walked up to the clerk and forgot about that for a second and as I started to talk to him I unzipped the jacket! Remembering I had a gun, I quickly zipped it back...

You can post whatever you want IMO. FWIW, I am much more liberal on that score than most of the mods here are. Your opinions are perfectly welcome as far as I am concerned. Apparently not, since I have only been here a few weeks, and you are making me feel most unwelcome here by chastising me for d...

One drink does not impair or inhebriate an adult person with a normal response to alcohol. It might. It might not. It's different for every person. That's precisely why the law is written without a specific amount about what being impaired is. I agree that you have explained your position just fine...

Frankie, what you are apparently not understanding from me, and I'm sure it is my fault for not explaining it properly, is that I have made the choice to choose to carry my firearm over drinking. Carrying my firearm, ie. protecting myself and my family, is more important than getting inebriated. I d...
