My Close Range Gunfighting instructor had a really good lecture on what to do after the shooting. I won't go over the whole lecture, but the key advice I plan to follow is this. Provide responding officers enough information to ensure their safety and establish you as the victim and this as a defens...

Are all federal facilities off limits. Are they required to post 30.06 signs? Yes, all Federal Facilities are off limits and no, they don't have to post 30.06 signs. The Feds are not subject to State laws. The federal law (don't have reference with me right now) does require notice to be given, but...

Where do you get the legalities on reciprocal states?
I CCW whenever I travel to a reciprocal state. I like to real, legal scoop on the laws when I do. To date, I go to http://www.packing.org where I print out their selected statutes. If I get bad info, I might go to jail.
Where do you get your legal information on other states?

My entire holster comes off when I disarm even though the kydex allows quick and easy on/off (I use belt clips, not a thread-through holster). I like the fact that the holster protects the trigger (and any other mechanical interrupts to discharge). This became a firm rule with me the last time I jus...

Both experiences neutral
Nothing said or actions different in either case. First was minor speeding by constable. Second was inside the police station filing a report and asked for ID.

Reciprocality
I would like to see TX work with other states to get more reciprocal agreements. I think we should especially put some effort into working with the few states still working on CHL legislation to ensure their laws will pass the TX criteria for reciprocality. Note that in WI, Senator Dave Zien plans t...

Forgot to mention what may have been the biggest keys to success. 1. BGs thought they had helpless victim. GG didn't display bravado or power in 'discussion' (didn't represent any threat to BG or tip them off he know how to handle himself). 2. GG action was swift (unexpected), violent and complete. ...

I liked this scene and studied it for a while. Here are some of my thoughts and observations. Sequence analysis: 1. Obviously avoid this situation. 2. Disarming, possibly a choice when one-on-one wasn't really an option with a second BG handy. 3. BG gun controlled first, swept with weak hand, pushin...
