Here's one for ya........(includes Link for DD-214)
Below is the txt of an email I just sent to CHL Office in Austin: Anyone want to speculate on the answer? Hello, My current license expires on my birthday of March 22, 2008 and at that date I will be 60 years old. When I do my renewal application (sometime in December 07) will I pay the 70.00 of age...

Unfortunately, I cannot be careful about timing on classes, etc......... I travel Worldwide extensively for work and can be called away without much notice. I have to plan everything I do in advance (which explains the reason for starting this thread), and then even that goes wrong routinely. Best I...

OOPS.......... I think you are right about the plates not being handled by DPS....... Of course the plates are linked to the CHL in TX. Anyway, I will just stand by and see what happens on the CHL Website after Sept 1st. with regards to the online fee. I will try to find a renewal place that I can d...

I made an edit to my post concerning the Range. My DD214 is already on file with DPS (Plates). You cannot take the class that far ahead of your renewal date. The earliest date I can renew is around December for a March 08 renewal. That being said, I do not understand why it would benefit me to take ...

Two questions about Vets
I am wondering what was the final on the bill to eliminate the fee for CHL in Texas for Vets. The original bill was for all Vets and somewhere I saw that it was changed to only Vets within 360 days of discharge. Others (like me) would get 50% off. Was that the final? My second question is the elimin...

OK
Thanks all for your input and I appreciate it. I just do not want to have to call DPS and put up with what I know will be a runaround. So, we will call it off. He will get his PD Certification and work in Canada for a few years (which will be an easy Background check for DPS when the time comes) and...

Canada is a COUNTRY.....not a State! He is here legally. He is a Dual Citizen. He could simply change his address back to TX and apply for a regular TX CHL, but he does not want to have to change his address to mine just to get a CHL that he will only have the opportunity to use one Month out of the...

Anyway, he was born in McKinney, TX in 1985 and we moved to Canada (Mother Canadian) in 1990. I retur...

This happened to me when I got my first license....... Well, it did not actually get lost in the mail. They put my license in an envelope with somebody else's license and my license went to him/her!!!! I called and complained and finally they called me back and said that the person had returned my l...
