Strange experience in a big-box store

Yeah, I know. Strange people in a big box store. Who would have thought? Anyway, there we are, smart-shopping for Items and Products. I've alerted on odd behavior in the canned goods. A gentleman sought defilade behind what I think they call an "end cap." He is peering between shelves down...

Re: Questionable comment in Outdoor Life article on AR accuracy

My guess is the only differences are the drag the bolt experiences against the follower versus the top of the next round to be fed. As the magazine empties, the moment (torque) on the rifle should change a little. However, by the time the bolt has moved out of breech, the bullet is out of the barrel...

Re: State of the union 2020

There is a new internet thing out there. “Send Nancy a New Copy” Gives her two addresses and a link where to get a copy of the speech. Ha! I had the same idea. Once again, I wasn't very original, but I think I might do it. Tearing up a state of the union speech, a thing mandated in the Constitution...

Does that include legislators? :evil2:
Yep. Penalties are predictably rare.

I just realized I don’t know when the Super Bowl happens this year or which teams are playing. No need to enlighten me, I’m fine.

Defense to prosecution is LTC like the wrongful exclusion law for tenants and owners, for example. I like the Texas Public Information Act, whi...

Re: Help with novel.

If you're in the Dallas area, the Dallas Mystery Writers meet the first Saturday of every month at the Olive Garden on Belt Line in Addison. They often have forensics people and retired detectives speak at their meetings. Best of luck with your writing. I see you've put a lot of effort in. I wish I ...

I just bought an OKC RAT (original size) to replace a travel folder that TSA managed to lose last week between dfw and phx. Fantastic lock up. Smooth deployment. Sharp out of the box. AUS8 steel. $27 from Amazon. Like it a lot. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E8EM2E/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title...

Hang on just a second. The guidelines say you can't enter the event with a visible gun? You're invited to walk past the metal detectors at the Capitol, but you can't walk into the police station with a lawfully carried firearm? I don't believe in making spectacles and I choose not to open carry, but...

That cartoon was a death threat? I would have taken it as a bon mot, or a friendly "heads up, it gets ugly sometimes but your gun nut buddies have your back."

Life can be so confusing.

Re: EDC knife

I've started carrying something silly - a Gerber EAB, which uses a utility blade. I need to replace my lost Benchmade, but I'll keep carrying that silly Gerber. It's kind of liberating to know you can scrape gum off sidewalks without goofing up something expensive to replace. It's a little finicky, ...

I agree, and I'm native to Austin, too. I don't live there any more and mourn when I go back. Bits of my old home poke out here and there, but mostly, it's just gone. [/quote]As a native Austinite, I can assure you it hasn't always been this way. As with other places in TX, it seems to be the result...

An outdoor park is a child care facility? They allow rattlesnakes, scorpions, fire ants, and grass burrs in their child care facilities?
