So how many of you...

So how many of you have heard the term Bar Room Lawyer ? Have you ever met one? I was told by a cop many years ago that a bar room lawyer is someone who talks about the law and gives others legal advice without really knowing anything about the law. An unlicensed person. I'm pretty lucky I've only m...

NO, YOU MISS THE POINT. Most of the law is quite simple . TX after a post like that you should put a disclaimer in your signature. It should read like this... I am not a lawyer but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. If people here keep listening to you some of them are going to end up in jail.

It's totally OK to read and understand the law but I doubt a jury or grand jury is really going to care. The BG's lawyer isn't going to be impressed either. Nor a judge. After all they have read the law too and they may have a different opinion of the laws than you do. A jury is also going to get a ...

You guys are missing the point. I'm not talking about just that law but the laws as a whole. Sure you can understand some of the laws but as a rule we usually hire a lawyer because they debate the law in court where people can end up in prison. Here on the forum if you make a mistake the most that c...

Sometimes

Sometime I'm not to good at explaining my view of the law in other threads so I thought I might try explaining it in my own thread. I'm going to post a law here (cut and paste) and then tell you my thoughts on what it means to me. Then you guys can go at it and tell me if you think I'm crazy or not....

And if I need help with my "problems" or figuring out what my problem might be, rest assured I won't be taking advice from you. Why would you? I'm not a lawyer and I don't pretend to understand the law. As KBCraig stated "The laws allowing defensive use of deadly force are highly sit...

Perhaps you should just sit back and try to learn rather than pop off
Your only problem is you think you can make sense of the law. You think you can understand it. You can't. Right now Yates is trying to use the law to get away with 5 murders. Who knows she just might succeed. OJ did succeed.

txinvestigator you need an attitude adjustment. I was just kidding. ElGato had it right. "The grand jury or the jury will define reasonable in each case". It does not matter how me or you define the law it will be the Grand jury's decision. All we can do on this forum is blow smoke and kee...

2) if a reasonable person in the actor's situation would not have retreated So... what is reasonable? What if I have a headache and don't feel like being reasonable? And is there a law that tells me what being reasonable is or am I once again left to figure out the law myself? I think I'll go have ...

Gee that's sad. That's just what lawyers do for the criminals.
