Re: Had an interesting experience yesterday

I don't see anything wrong with what you did. I'm always armed when I leave the house but not when I take the trash out. (I have been a few times.) Unless you live in a really bad area, it's not surprising that you wouldn't be armed when you're on your own property. I would be concerned about future...

Re: Obama has Firearm & Ammo company stocks

This is the kind of petty stuff that drive me nuts. There is so much substantial and egregious behavior that focusing on this petty stuff lessens the willingness of people to listen to what really matters. The guy is ignoring the Constitutional Separation of Powers and you want to hang him on some s...

Re: Military discharge for personality disorder

I forgot to mention, I don't know if it makes a difference but I work for a public school district and passed background checks and federal fingerprinting and also obtained a TWIC card from homeland security but I don't know if they have similar criteria. I doubt you will have a problem, but review...

Re: Military discharge for personality disorder

Questions like this can only be answered by the DPS. They are the final arbiters of eligibility. Having said that, the law is clear that you must be adjudicated as mentally ill or under the care of a physician taking certain prescribed drugs to be disqualified. Government Code 411.172, subsection (d...

Re: Are Obama related gun purchases just death throes?

Ruark, Sorry ole chum, but those were great days, for some... I too am a product of the fifties and while I miss some of the positives, I don't miss any of the negatives of which the list is quite long. Mayberry RFD never really existed. Actually Mayberry still exists. It's called Mount Airy, NC. h...

No one is marching me anywhere. They may bury me, but they won't be marching me.

Re: Police Group Upset Over DPS Director's "Spit" Comment

I have written this charge for spitting using PC22.11, basically boils down to assault by contact - bodily fluids. The result was 6 year sentence to be ran stacked on top of the parole violation that caused the return to custody. There are other charges that can be filed on the street level for off...

Re: Police Group Upset Over DPS Director's "Spit" Comment

If they are going to spit on me I would rather them do it once we enter the jail so I can add a F/3 to their charge list. This all falls under TPC: 22.11. Enjoy your 2-10 in TDC. This now makes sense to me. Note how he wrote "once we enter the jail". So nightmare69 is well aware that he c...

Re: Police Group Upset Over DPS Director's "Spit" Comment

I just reread that section: Sec. 22.11. HARASSMENT BY PERSONS IN CERTAIN CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES; HARASSMENT OF PUBLIC SERVANT. (a) A person commits an offense if, with the intent to assault, harass, or alarm, the person: (1) while imprisoned or confined in a correctional or detention facility, caus...

Re: Police Group Upset Over DPS Director's "Spit" Comment

Not sure if this applies in Texas or not. http://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-charges/assault-and-battery-overview.html I have no idea about the level or degree of crime. Somebody found it. http://www.brettsanders.me/2015/05/texas-woman-sentenced-to-5-years-in-prison-for-spitting-on-a-cop/ Have yo...

Re: Police Group Upset Over DPS Director's "Spit" Comment

I think spitting or sharing other bodily fluids on someone is now a crime. I believe it came about with aids and other diseases that can be spread. Is it just a crime if the target is a cop or is it anyone? I searched for the word spit in the Texas Statutes. It does not appear anywhere. So there is...
