Re: More gun rag stupidity

I'm not thinking of the finger behind the trigger as a normal means of presentation of any gun. But out of curiousity when I read the initial post I did stick my finger behind the trigger of both my loaded handed guns, No one got killed, no one got shot, in fact the guns never went off. While I do ...

You made me look  I was editing with a response while you were responding. Thanks again for pointing out the inclusion of "c" in the defense to prosecution. And all this time I've been hassling with disarming in the parking lot  I re-read again... it's not "defense to pro...

Re: Our Fees v DPS budget

I think the governor's page you referenced is the increase in the budget, not the total. According to the Comptroller's office, we collect $6,914,295,978 in all licenses, fees, fines, permits and penalties. http://www.cpa.state.tx.us/taxbud/revenue.html very good. I would still love to see a breakd...

Re: bounty hunters?

Re: Our Fees v DPS budget

As a quick estimate, you could take the number of CHL's and divide it by 5. That would be the number renewed per year and is probably a decent estimate of the number of licenses for fees collected. I am guessing that the initials are just even with the expiring and not renewed for this. That is 577...

Re: bounty hunters?

txinvestigator-- Do you have a cite for the section of the law where rifles are not permitted for commissioned officers? Just curious as this issue has come up where I work. I don't remember anything on it one way or another when I took my commission school. stoneface (d) Commissioned security offi...

Re: AM I ELIGIBLE????

You need to trust us. A city code violation will not disqualify you either. Misdemeanors are five year disqualifiers from the date of conviction. Certain felonies are permenant disqualifiers, some are only 10 years of you have deferred. Since yours is a Midemeanor, it matters not if it was deferred ...

Re: AM I ELIGIBLE????

Misdemeanors make you ineligible for 5 years from the date of conviction. If your date of conviction to probation was over 5 years from the date you applied, you are good to go.

Traffic tickets will not affect your CHL. What is a "code violation"?

Our Fees v DPS budget

I have done some research, and it appears that the CHL division is working on a budget way over the dollars that goes to the general fund from the fees we pay; According to the State Budget, DPS' entire budget for CHL administration is $4,458,105 for FY 2008 (article V, section 42 E.1.1) and the rev...
