Re: Best 22 pistol to get the grandson started with?

We bought a Heritage Roughrider on sale at Cabelas a couple of weeks ago for $129. Haven't got to shoot it yet but it has good reviews. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Shooting/Handguns/Rimfire|/pc/104792580/c/105526980/sc/105528780/Heritage-Rough-Rider-SA-Rimfire-Revolvers/1271908.uts?destination=%2...

I gathered that. I was just amused by the "admitted to being a prepper," like he was "admitting to being a drunk" or something like that.
Hello my name is John and I'm a prepepper.

Re: My Pistol Packin Mama

hey Papa, you guys are just around the corner from us, we're in Schertz! Yep right down the street. We're looking at moving out to Luling sometime next year. Welcome, though I can almost honestly question the sanity of anyone wanting to move to Luling. It smells like money! We've been going to Rive...

Re: pros & cons of obvious security vs. hidden

I wouldn't put a beam anywhere outside. They can be set off by dogs, cats, birds, grass being blown in the wind etc... You would have to run wiring out to it for power anyways so put a magnetic door contact on it instead. I agree in the example you gave where breaking the beam sets off an alarm tha...

Re: DOG????????

I used the same old trick I have been using for years slow down a little let the dog get close then accelerate hard. This throws the dog off and puts the MUTT behind you then simply out run the dog. This works most of the time However there are some exceptions :reddevil Like if you're riding a Kawa...

Re: pros & cons of obvious security vs. hidden

Ok, help me out here...would I be able to use the magnetic contact on a wood gate? Yep, one side is a contact and that needs 2 conductors to it, the other side is just a magnet. You could wire it to a buzzer or bell in the house like you hear in a convenience store or if you have a alarm system it ...

Re: My Pistol Packin Mama

Yep open to the public. They have several skeet/trap ranges and rifle and pistol range. Everyone calls their own cease fire, you can set your target to any distance you want, you can keep your brass too! Very nice range IMHO. I10 east exit Trainer Hale and turn right, about 2 miles down on the left....

Re: My Pistol Packin Mama

I will stop by Bracken every once in awhile. We prefer Bexar Community range off of Trainer Hale though. They use B27's and allow you to put stick ons on them. They also allow you to draw from your holster and rapid fire if they aren't too busy.
