... unless I was going to immediately fire in fear for my life. To clarify, fear alone is not enough for deadly force to be justified. One that is in fear for their life because the OP is the aggressor with the means to immediately and imminently cause severe bodily harm or death to you and / or yo...

Re: Minnesota LTCer Shoots Motorist After Car Accident
... Noah Dukart told KTTC-TV. “Then my friend said, ‘I dare you,’ and he shot him right in the heart.” Everyone knows that self defense applies as a legal defense only on double dog dares. Excellent point. the double dog dare made me chuckle  But in all seriousness, think someone says "I ...

Re: MI:Former Marine charged with assault with attempt to murder after defending his family
Former Marine would be the correct way to phrase it, Ex Marine is the misnomer.

1. How about those ads for some kind of medicine to cure a problem? They then go on to list so MANY side effects, you would probably be just as well off to stick with your original single ailment! One medicine lists "compulsive gambling" as one of your possible freebies! 2. How about TV a...

Re: What knife do you carry?
A more interesting question is how do you train to defend yourself with the edge weapon you EDC? https://www.amazon.com/AK-Boot-Training-Knife/dp/B002YAZQHQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1515531148&sr=8-1&keywords=sharkee+training+knife Something like this is good. Pocket it or place it in you...

Re: Safariland 578 GLS w/ Paddle
I prefer the ALS holsters. They are quite a bit more sturdy in construction. I bought a GLS one time and it felt so cheap when I opened it in the truck I took it right back inside and got a refund. The GLS I grabbed was super flimsy and when the gun locked into it, it wiggled around like marmalade ...

Re: Safariland 578 GLS w/ Paddle
Reading reviews/watching reviews on youtube - alot of ppl don't care for the paddle holster apparently, but I rather enjoy it. There are other options like the quick belt attachment that you can convert it to if you don't care for the paddle part - the grip lock is great though IMHO - YMMV

Safariland 578 GLS w/ Paddle
Got the Model 578 GLS™ Pro-Fit™ Holster (with Paddle) for Christmas. Been wearing it daily w/ my Walther PPQ 4in and I love it. Just wish I could wear it at work. One day I'm going to get in trouble because its so comfortable I have already almost forgotten I had it on a couple of times and made it ...

Re: New Year's eve arrest at Houston Hyatt
I think we may need to pay very close attention to this case. It may have a side effect we do not like. The man had rented a room from the hotel and was asked to leave. The police arrested him and did charge him with criminal trespass for refusing to leave. Think about this for a minute. Several ti...

Re: Questions About LEO's Asking For ID's When I'm Simply Passenger
I use to consent to searches under the mentality that 'I've done nothing wrong, and got nothing to hide'... Then one night way back in the days of dial up internet, me and a couple of friends were going to have a LAN party to play some computer games. Got stopped for a nothing-burger traffic stop(He...

Re: Jury duty in Houston tomorrow
So far, I've only been summoned for Jury Duty once. I showed up, got put in a jury selection and we were about to go to Voir-dire when the Judge stepped out. She explained that the case had been stopped due to a last-minute injunction - the Judge explained that it was a civil case between relatives ...

Re: CA: No place but California
I'm in a unique age bracket - I grew up knowing of and even using some of the older floppy disks and non-internet connected computers (IE dialup) but by the time I hit the workforce that was pretty much a thing of the past(thank god). But it was a good thing in a lot of ways because I grew up in the...

Re: Annoying Trends.
Alright, guess I'll throw my hat into the ring. I agree that carrying a round in the chamber w/ handgun or rifle are the same thing. AD and ND are just as likely to happen to both if the gun isn't given the proper respect. If carrying a rifle w/ one in the chamber, considering there isn't a trigger ...
