Re: The NRA.....lets talk!
I am a member, and I support the NRA, and I know that sometimes my criticisms sound like I'm bashing the organization. I'm not. I want the organization to grow. But one of my biggest gripes is the excessive hyperbole that gets tossed about. It's mostly on the "preaching to the choir" stuff...

Re: Stopped for Wheelie
Regarding the threat that "I could take you to jail!", it's a bit hollow since he can always take you to jail, with the exception of two violations.
Quick, what are they?

Re: Open Carry.Org Targets Texas
My point is, that in all my time in VA I've seen... wait for it... NO ONE open carrying. Not one single person other than uniformed LEOs. Yes I've heard all the blather (web postings) about OC get togethers at restaurant xyz. BUT I'VE NEVER SEEN THAT EVEN ONCE. That mirrors my experience in eight y...

Re: If Open Carry Passes Now What Changes Do You Make?
I think the big thing anyone switching to open carry will have to take into account is, as bigolbigun mentioned, getting a holster that offers a retention mechanism. I don't know whether simple Level I retention would be enough. Most police departments I'm familiar with require a Level II, and I'd ...

They hesitate to do that because they are not the one making the purchase. Now whenever you come in complaining that you can't get warranty service on whatever it is you bought because they can't find your purchase and no longer have your receipt, guess what? The clerk's name, phone number, and add...

Re: Locked topics
The problem in this argument is that people read the forum differently. I don't know how any can possibly read it and hope to keep up by browsing the sections, but not everyone is up to speed on using tabbed browsers. I always enter the forum at the "view unread posts" link, then open each...

Re: If Open Carry Passes Now What Changes Do You Make?
I would not open carry. I think Iratollah summed it up rather succinctly in another thread and, in her own words, Mrs. Oldgringo agreed with him. :smilelol5: Codpiece indeed! "rlol" It's just as offense every time that comparison is made, because the anti-gunners say the same thing about ...

I get the joke, but IWB is open carry too. If it wasn't, you wouldn't need a cover garment.KD5NRH wrote:Well, since my most comfortable holsters are IWB, I'd just have to start wearing a belt and holster without pants.

No need to be a jerk, or hardheaded about it. Just make up a name or phone number if you want. Just make something up... Why fight with a store clerk? Wrong question. The question should be, "Why is the store clerk fighting with me over this?" I won't make something up to appease them; I ...

Wow, that's unfortunate. From time to time I would wonder if he "went away mad" and I missed it, but I always expected that he would pop back in one of these days.

Re: Carry in National Parks - Decision Made
Also, I found this in the Q&A section. Moreover, the final rule does not affect existing rules limiting the possession of loaded rifles or shotguns. Ah, but it does affect such rules. The final rule repeatedly says "concealed and loaded firearms". It says nothing about handguns, rifle...

I think Service Merchandise was the first place that I encountered that. It was when Radio Shack became obnoxious about it that I started refusing (and I think they've stopped after so many protests). I actually left merchandise on the counter at Toys-R-Us and walked out when the cashier insisted sh...
