Re: Instructor Power Point

I'm hesitant to name names (not sure about forum rules around that) but the big, well known organization that sells course materials at the Instructor's Training classes puts out some great stuff IMO. The most recent version (2015) was a MAJOR improvement over the previous version, and the student m...

Re: Discharging firearm in a residential area

I am not a lawyer, nor am I LEO. And I'm speaking in VERY broad generalities... But, most of the laws, regulations, ordinances, etc. that would restrict discharging a firearm in most any situation are coupled with an affirmative defense that, in layman's terms, comes down to "it needed doing......

Re: Anyone know where Hornady presses are made?

Haha you definitely are. I'm going to look into installing the case feeder for the Dillon onto the Hornady. I hadn't read about that in my googling. The top portions (collator and funnel) are identical, just different colors. Mechanism at the press end, and such, I don't have a clue. I know for a f...

Re: Anyone know where Hornady presses are made?

Thank you! The case feeder with the AP is about $740 even at the sale price. That's only about $50 off from the Dillon with the case feeder. Seeing as how I view this as a long term investment I think the lifetime warranty is worth that. I also plan on reloading rifle and handgun in large amounts s...

Not sure I wouldn't have gone with "Monica" in that context, but I LOVE it either way!!!

Re: Anyone know where Hornady presses are made?

I think the ~$600 for a 650 is the bare press. You'll still need dies and a case feeder. One thing to note: The Hornady works quite well without the case feeder, I consider it an add-on, and a nice touch, but the press is designed to operate without the case feeder. The Dillon 650 is NOT designed t...

Re: Red Neck Country Club ugh!

Are they (legitimately) posted 51℅? I'll never forget (or forgive) listening to Michael Berry running his mouth about how he was going to post 30.06 and anybody who has a problem w that will be ignored. His business, his rules; but IMO completely contradictory to the way he presents himself politic...

Re: Interesting events at Boerne Walmart

I did a little bit of Google searching. I really don't care about such things coming up in my search history, and I'm known for baiting these invasions of privacy on general principle...freedom of speech and all that. That said, it does appear that it's Wal-Mart policy and has been for some time. Ot...

Re: Texas DA Plans Marijuana Sanctuary

Actually, at the risk of sounding cynical... Upon the observation that it's not Austin, I'll point out that the current Houston Police Chief is the infamous Art Acevado...so it might as well be Austin from that perspective. And...the whole thing sounds like a trap to me, with potential long-term con...

Re: New LTC holder, looking for advice on my .38 and S&W .357

As someone who carries revolvers quite frequently, I'll offer some hints... The Charter Arms will be easy to find holsters for, but IMO stay away from the generics (Uncle Mike's, etc.) -- for daily carry, especially concealed, a model-specific holster that retains by "fit" rather than a st...

Re: Anti Asset Forfeiture bill?

Everything surrounding the concept of Civil Asset Forfeiture is the poster child for unintended consequences. Any time we are considering the addition of a new law to allow "Fill in your blanks here" we must consider how it can be used by the other side, or in the wrong hands. It sounds li...
