Re: Have you ever seen...

"Caddy-wompus" isn't a real word. Just sayin'. :evil2: Correct usage would be "dingle-fritz" or "googley-moogely". :smilelol5: To the question: No, I've never heard of such a thing. "It just went off" is another way of saying "I messed up real bad"....

Re: Thoughts on a NAA .22 Mag

I don't disagree with you. But as Harry Callahan observed, "Man's got to know his limitations." I could not generate a hail of accurate single action fire with mine, unless I'm maybe shooting at a retreating sea turtle on the beach. (No, I would never do that.) I do expect that it would h...

Re: Thoughts on a NAA .22 Mag

Love the NAA .22 mag. Don't let anyone tell you the .22 mag isn't a capable SD round; it is. I dont know too many bad guys that'll keep coming your direction if you're sending a hail of .22 mag their way...and frankly, the ones who wouldn't stop probably wouldn't stop at .45's coming their way eithe...

Re: Texas Traffic Laws

Perhaps I'm not understanding the question or the description, but it looks to me like if each turning vehicle turns into the appropriate lane, it's a non-issue. The use of the Yield sign seems confusing, especially in concert with the traffic lights, BUT, proper lane usage seems to be the real issu...

Re: The wussification continues...

Hmnm.

I've had a balloon pop close to my ear. It didn't leave me with any hearing damage.

I've touched off a .357 without hearing protection. That was in 1991. My right ear is still ringing.

Sounds legit to me. :banghead:

Re: Research Help Needed!

Wow. It sounds like these judges are just making up the law on the fly (or at least amending the law on the fly). Terrible ruling. Terrible precedent. That's exactly what I would expect from Al Scoggins. I had numerous dealings with him in the 378th District Court in Ellis County over the years, an...

Re: CHL-8 Question

Mike S, if I simply leave the proficiency part blank, but then a few weeks later administer the proficiency test and he passes, will the state see some discrepancy between a CHL 100 where I have signed that he passed but a CHL8 with no indication of a proficiency test? Not Mike S, But, there's no r...

Re: Trip to San Antonio

When you stay in a Motel can you legally carry from your car to your room? Yes. The room you have rented is your home and thus your homestead for the duration of the rental. I am, of course, not a lawyer :) As far as the Riverwalk, other than the places already mentioned, when we were there last Ap...

Re: An eligibility question you may not have heard before...

I'm Absolutely not a lawyer, but to me logic would dictate that "dismissed is dismissed." The only exception to that condition would be where "dismissed isn't dismissed," such as some of the special clauses where deferred adjudication is considered a conviction for LTC purposes. ...

Not of a firearm, per-se, but before anyone gets red-cheeked, I assure you it was a gun by anybody's definition. I'm dating myself here, and admitting to behavior that was acceptable at the time that we'd never do today. Anybody remember those Freon-powered full-auto BB guns they used to advertise i...

It's California. The projectiles are cast from dehydrated unicorn tears and fueled with compressed rainbow gas.

Re: New .38 Spl Colt Revolver

I will wait with baited breath. I really want to complete the Python collection, and frankly I just like all the colt DA revolvers, shortfalls and all. I still kick myself for passing on the $3000 set of 2", 4" and 6" Pythons I found on an obscure table at a gun show several years ago...

Re: wts/wtt

If you don't find someone who wants to trade 9's for 40's, you might consider a pair of Lone Wolf or other aftermarket conversion barrels and a couple of 9mm magazines for each gun. By so doing, you can swap between 9 and 40 in either gun by simply swapping the barrel and using the appropriate magaz...

Re: WTS - Colt Series 80 1911

That is an absolutely gorgeous piece of hardware. Simple, elegant, with all the right functional touches, and nothing that doesn't need to be there. There's really nothing to compare to the classic Colt bluing jobs. If I could, I'd jump all over it! But I can offer compliments and a bump! This is a ...
