Assistant for draw, shoot & move clinic

Is there anyone attending the forum day that might be interested in helping me as an assistant range officer for the draw, shoot and move clinic on Saturday?

I have a comp-tac CTAC with velcro clips which I tuck my shirt in. I've got a few belt/shirt combinations that range from t-shirt casual to business formal.

I also have a planner, a fanny pack and smart carry, although with the latter all you get to see is the gun. ;-)

If you don't sell it before TXCHLForum day, I'd like to try my hands on the SF grip to see how it feels.

I hope so too.
Sorry, but it's a state issue settled in state court. It has no weight in other states.

Same was true of Florida's "Caslte Doctrine".

Re: Should teachers be allowed to pack a gun?

I am an officer responding to a call of, or just heard gunshots down the mall where I am working off-duty security. I immediately head to the scene, only to see 6 people with guns drawn. I have no idea who ANY of them are. I now have to take time to sort out who are the BG's and who aren't. The BG ...

This has not come up to the moderators before, but pictures of people have been posted. We will talk it over. For those that can't wait, I'd suggest using the "introduce yourself" thread and posting a picture there. If the mods agree that we shouldn't be doing that, we can delete any damag...

Polymer parts are not generally bearing surfaces for moving parts and thus should require no lube. To clean, I often take a pure dry patch and wipe it down. If for some reason I like it clean, I'll use some hoppes #9 and then dry it off when clean.

The term that I use for guys that show up to training looking like that is "Tactical Ted". Just make sure that the equipment that counts is high quality--gun, magazines, ammo, holster, mag pouch, sunscreen, eyes, ears, brain and trigger finger.

Enjoy your training and stay safe.

Firing through a door - another angle

I'm sure y'all have read the other thread about a homeowner shooting through a closed door. This thread examines a completely different aspect of this type of situation. Specifically, what does the level of training have to do with such an incident? Let me start by quoting from the column "Cop ...

Fantastic question! I have been struggling with the "don't ask and you won't get in even more trouble" quandary. I'd even like to know about those who've even asked for permission from a school system.
