Re: NRA and TSRA Support CSHB700

OK, please forgive me for my ignorance on the process but what happens from here? The committee votes then it goes to for a full vote before the Senate then if it passes to the Gov? Again I apologize for my ignorance in such matters. I never followed Texas legislator as closely in the past as I hav...

Re: Rep. Naomi Gonzalez arrested on DWI charge

Based on all the reading I've done on her in the past few hours, I am led to believe that she would be against Campus Carry.
Perhaps she was so frustrated at all the pro campus carry stuff going on yesterday in the committee, she went out drinking to forget it. :nono:

Re: Rep. Naomi Gonzalez arrested on DWI charge

Possibly one less vote against our bills if she's busy with all this?

She's rated 67% according to the NRA.... don't know if she was for or against our bills, anyone have any info?

Re: Defending yourself against dogs

Received an email from our HOA that two large aggressive dogs were seen in the neighborhood. Haven't let the boys walk our dog without me since and of course I bring along my little friend. You bring an M16 with attached M203 gernade launcher. I want one. Wouldn't that be sweet. Technically, Carryi...

Re: OIS today in Austin - bloggers already at it

As has been stated many times in this forum and elsewhere. 99.9% of the time, the place to argue against an individual officer's actions & decisions is not in the field. It is in court. If you feel you are being detained/arrested/disarmed etc unjustly, feel free to make a statement as such at th...

Re: Defending yourself against dogs

Some have debated whether or not dogs should be shot if they are approaching in a aggressive manner. http://www.khou.com/home/Firefighter-2-women-injured-when-vicious-dogs-attack-in-northwest-Houston--198101251.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; A 62-year-old school teache...

J.R.@A&M wrote:Allright! I didn't know that as a U.S. citizen I have a right to personal safety in public places. That solves everything.
Clearly, all you need to do to stop a criminal is call them out on infringing your right to personal safety!

Re: Call-To-Action: Hearings on Numerous House Bills

I can't watch. The ignorance and blatent falsehoods being spouted by those opposed makes me want to throw my monitor. Being a former US Air Force member myself, that one guy testifying about his AF experience, and not wanting to be 'tasked as the first line of defense' at a school made my blood boil...

Re: DWI stop nets two automatic rifles

Someone would have to do work to modify the ARs to be full auto. They not only need work done to the lower receiver, and the proper trigger group parts, but also a full-auto bolt carrier. You have to know what you are doing to make it all work, unlike what the antis make it sound like. I've posted ...

Re: Call-To-Action: Hearings on Numerous House Bills

Anyone have a quick boiler plate message I could kick off with an email during work and then call this evening? I sent this to my Rep: Dear Representative Elkins, The following bills are coming up for public hearings over the next few days. I would like to reiterate my desire for you, as my elected...

Re: Call-To-Action: Hearings on Numerous House Bills

Does anyone have a list of email addresses for the committee members?

They usually follow the firstname.lastname@house.state.tx.us standard

If someone puts together a email listing, I'll gladly spam it out to them, but I don't have the time or ability to make calls while I'm at work all day.

Re: OC v CHL

Technically, both OC and CC would affect every licensee, they would all be able to legally _____. But the practical question of which would BENEFIT the most people can only be determined by asking all of them. Personally, I am not a student but I would be more likely to carry on a campus than to OC...
