What we have are made up target frames on 1x2's and PVC pipe inserts in the ground to stick them into. The left side of the firing line has 3 rows (I think) of inserts out to 10yds. The right side has inserts at 25 (a few), 50, 100, & 200 yds. Most restrictions are just common sense. Don't shoot...

I have been studying the parts list and illustration for the PT1911. I invite everyone to review pages 4 & 5 of the manual here: http://www.taurususa.com/pdf/1911manual.pdf From what I can tell, there are no parts of the Security System that are not included in the hammer. It would appear than t...

I guess they might take some getting used to. However, they are functionally the same and almost identical to the dot/bar sights on my PM9, K40, and P45 Kahrs. I have another K40 with 3-dot night sights, but they are all green. Misalignment, although extreme, could happen. I have always thought that...

Actually, the trigger is excellent! I fondled two of them. One had a good trigger, the other had a VERY good trigger. I felt bad taking the better trigger since the guy next to me was gonna get the other one. I heard back from him since, and his cleaned up to where he's also very happy. All Pt1911's...

Cyphur, Did you by chance order the holster with a thumbbreak? A few years ago, I bought a Texas Heritage and got it with a thumb break, against Tucker's and Rob's advice. The strap would push the safety off. Eventually, the perceived need for the thumb strap fades and you realize you didn't really ...

I chrono'd the SB's at an average 797 from my Kahr P45 with a 3.5 bbl. That is slightly better than the velocities given by the Glock 3.8" bbl. Fed Hydra Shoks averaged 853fps, better than any of the other rounds I fired. The expansion and penetration shown in DateT's chart is truly impressive....

PT1911 is SWEET!!!

I've only had mine a week but I love it. It has a lot of features, not normally found on a low cost 1911. Great sights, very nice trigger, forged slide and frame and it ate 200 of my reloads without a hiccup. Kim du Toit, on his forum, writes about his. He's fired over 1000 rounds without a cleaning...

BASC open in Crosby

Bay Area Shooting Club, formerly near Bayer Chemical near Baytown, has opened our new range just east of Crosby. If anyone remembers, our Baytown range was the victim of Home Depot's bullying legal staff. They built their distribution center near the old range and then forced us to close or go bankr...

But not OK in Harris County

This from the 2006-2007 TPWD Hunting Annual: "[It is against the law to] hunt wild animals or wild birds or target shoot on land in HARRIS County owned by another without having in immediate possession written consent of the landowner of that land. The written consent must contain the hunter's ...
