Didn't know they had the new ones open. Hmmmm. Might have to check those out real soon. Loved the single private lane but hate the wait.

No, I had a wall on my left, right and behind me. You can see the other shooters targets but thats it.

I'll watch it later, heart rate calming down now "rlol"
I was watching and right as you switched from rifle to pistol, lightning flashed just outside my window and BOOM less than a millisecond and I was like "you got 1 loud pistol there" ...:

I see the video of people shooting and drawing from a holster so I sent them an email about being able to do that since none of the indoor gun ranges that I know of allow it and Roxanne Laney (I hope I have it right)was nice enough to called me back on the ph and answered my question(s)

You are allowed to draw from a holster in a private suite and it is an extra 7 dollars over the normal range fee. (Weekdays 21.00 and weekends are 25.00 with an extra 10.00 for another person) and there is no time limit
Some parents say it is toy guns that make boys warlike. But give a boy a rubber duck and he will seize its neck like the butt of a pistol and shout "Bang!"......George Will

That's cool that there is no time limit on the new ones. The original private lane had a 1 hour time limit and the wait could be 3 hours or so to get in. Shoot smart has a great staff and being able to draw from a holster puts it at the top of my list. Transitioning from rifle to pistol is another skill that you can practice in the private lane. Not sure about the new lanes but in the original private lane you were allowed to rapid fire as well. The range officer told me they even allow full auto if you happen to own one. Again that was the original single private lane and it has been a while since I have been there. Rules change so please ask before hand.

it says on there web site that you are allow full auto's and they have happy hour (for how long I don't know) it's $5.00 between 2-4 pm
one thing is NO shotguns.... you think a range that can take full auto would be able to handle a shotgun

They used to allow shotguns on the open lanes but some folks were lucky to keep their shots inside. The right side wall on the range looks like it's seen a few wrecking balls. I talked to an instructor there yesterday and he said they're considering shotguns again but only using slugs.

Just found out Happy hour doesn't apply to the Private lanes. LOL. I will still choose them over the public lanes.

Yea I know but you have fewer restrictions (rapid fire) in the private lanes and they seem to be wider which might mean less brass in the face and down the shirt

I'm going to try out a private lane this week, mainly to zero my PS90 but also to keep away from my mom, who I'm going to get a lesson for :biggrinjester: I figure it'll be better if a professional gives her a basic class rather than me.

I just tried Shoot Smart for the first time yesterday and REALLY liked it. Very nice place and very friendly... tonight I went by and had the gunsmith install a Battlecomp on my AR, and it took a half hour for the entire trip (I'm staying in Roanoke).
Remember the first rule of gunfighting ... have a gun.
