Fire at DFW Gun Range?

#1

Post by Keith B »

Hearing reports there is a 3 alarm fire at DFW Gun Range on Mockingbird in Dallas. Heavy fire was reported via radio traffic when trucks arrived.

Four Alarm - Manpower 15:54

Added in Edit: Four alarms Manpower means more hands are needed but there is plenty of apparatus at the fire. Initial size up called for "One story commercial, heavy smoke from the roof near front". No word on origin but it sounds like maybe in the pro shop area. Storm water is involved now which means a BUNCH of water is flowing and running off.

Darn, had plans to go there on Monday with the wife.
The fire broke out after a man fired off tracer rounds inside the building, which is illegal, said Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans.
Really, I didn't know they were illegal.

Jason's a nice enough guy and a good fireman but he is mistaken, against rules, not illegal.

I posted a question on the blog. I can't tell for sure if Jason said this or it was "added" by the author.

Defensive now. Note the ladder pipes in the above post. Means she folded up where the fire is and it's a cool down operation now.

"Tapped Out" - Under control, will be a while unwinding.

Added in edit: Looks like they'll be sifting through the ashes for a while, overhaul starts at 18:30 - 5 units.

This is where I usually shoot!
Springfield XD(m) 9mm 3.8 | Springfield XD-45 Compact | Springfield XD-9 Service
Kimber Pro CDP II .45 ACP | Kimber Pro Aegis II 9mm w/Crimson Trace | Walther PPS 9mm
Bushmaster AR-15 w/Magpul pistol grip and foregrip, Bushnell holosight

I carry a gun because I can't carry a cop.
