Good shooting Tex- San Antonio edition

4am. Unarmed man come out from apartment with girlfriend to confront criminal attempting to break into his car.

Criminal is armed and points gun at girlfriend and wants keys to car. Says they’re inside.

Instead of getting keys gets handgun goes out onto to second floor balcony and plugs criminal three times.

Does not hit girlfriend.

What idiot goes out to confront a thief at 4am and leaves their gun at home?
And then shoots at the thief from his balcony? Hopefully the girlfriend was far separated and out of the line of fire.
