Things don't smell right on this.

1. Plain clothes officers would seem unlikely to stop someone for a seat belt infraction.

2. SWAT teams are not part of the normal traffic stop process. Who called them in and why? If they were already there for the initial stop, why isn't the motive for them being there released by CPD?

I get so tired [abbreviated profanity deleted] getting half a story from the media and the PD "cooperating" with that half story. Whatever happened to transparency? Yes, I get it with the whole "defund the police" narrative but why play into that by being illusive with the information?. I also understand that the Wa Po might have had the information and deliberately hid it. But the CPD could call a press conference and release the correct story. OTOH, this is Chicago.
