A police cruiser filmed this car on their video cam when it went airborne and crashed into a bridge at 100MPH.

Saw this news story yesterday. Could not believe he was not pronounced dead at the scene.

It appears....

..."An hour before the incident a police found Eden"...."carrying misdemeanour amount of weed."

I was sure that the man was in pieces scattered across the roadway with his car parts after seeing that. Unbelievable that he survived!

Yes the driver was very lucky. I think what saved him is he did not hit the bridge support head-on, or with his body in line with it. The car spun to the left in mid-air, looks as if the right rear corner is that actually hit the support, with the trunk area disintegrating and going to the right of the support and the rest of the car sheared off and going the left of the support. All the crunching and tearing and spinning around absorbed enough of the energy to save him.

Unbelievable! I've seen plenty of vids of crashes, but that one gets the Oscar. Wow. Hard to see how he survived.

On one of the reports I thought they said he was thrown from the car. Even crazier that he survived if true!

I heard that was the reason he survived. He got thrown out before the car got smashed to pieces.

I don't think that's the case. There was nothing to throw him from the car prior to impact. I think he came out after the back end of the car got ripped off.

100 MPH, passing the cop, in the median - his mama did raise some fools.

The car was a 1985 Pontiac Firebird, by the way.
