I have seen a couple of programs on Russian prisons and these guys are in for some misery if they are caught.

My Russian coworker (born & raised until moving to US in his teens) says this is rascist based for sure. Those guys are likely skinheads/Nationalists & hate the region that guy is from. Although, from our conversation, I'm thinking he's probably on their side. Calling people from that region "monkeys"/Muslims/thugs just out to make money in organized crime.
