So Chief Acevedo, why is this OK in off-campus living quarters, but NOT ok when it is on-campus living quarters? Oh, because on campus you have all those lovely resources for dealing with the consequences of the ensuing rape? Gotcha. Assuming she lives through it.

Interesting she didn't just choose counseling afterward.

Good for her. The more we stand up for ourselves the less we will have to.

Hey, DPS record shows his risk level was only 'moderate'! She should have just shot him in the leg or something.

What a wonderful outcome. Without a gun, this woman would have had no means of protecting herself and the criminal would have been able to do whatever he wanted. Instead, she is safe and he is dead, setting an example to his friends and others like him. Stories like this are the strongest argument for guns in the hands of law abiding citizens in any place.

For the win! Acevedo is a scum sucking cretin. I'd like 5 minutes alone in a room with him to make hear just how immoral his worldview is.

"Hey, DPS record shows his risk level was only 'moderate'!"

So, I wonder what the specific definition is on moderate risk level: He'll only rape every other week?

Pinhead head shrinkers really ought to seek a different line of work.

They VERY often hit short of the mark with offenders risk level predictions and the innocent pay the price for their miserably inaccurate predictions.

Good for her to chose to protect herself over victim's counseling.

I'm not defending him, but I've heard him justify it as "so officers can tell the good guys from the bad guys". I get that.. And it makes sense.
The problem is that by the time LEOs get there, 20 people are already dead.
Personally, I'd rather have 5 dead and risk the LEOs shooting the wrong one.
