Sad. Done by someone who should have been in prison long ago.

This is another tragic case of "Familiar Danger", which further bolsters the statistic that one is far more likely to be harmed by someone they know than a random stranger.
It's also another failure of the justice system to reign in a known dangerous individual despite numerous opportunities. Is it just me, or does the System seem to be very effective at getting good people over small things while being less effective at stopping the bad ones?

From WFAA's own story:
Yet their headline says this:Conley has an extensive criminal history that dates back to 1988, including incidents of family violence, drugs and driving while under the influence.
Conley was recently charged with assaulting a family member — his second such charge — July 8 when he allegedly pushed his girlfriend's head against a refrigerator multiple times, according to court documents.....
...In 2013, Conley was charged and convicted of aggravated assault of a family member when he threatened this same girlfriend with a knife. An emergency protective order and a no contact order was issued against Conley, court reports show, and he pleaded guilty and was sentenced to nine months in county jail..
Do they even read their own story before giving it a headline?"We regret to report that there has been another mass shooting in Texas..."

Not to defend a system that let's psychos like this run loose because I think it is to some degree intentional, but even at its best, the system isn't really designed to handle psychopaths like this guy, and honestly, it would be difficult to do so without injustice to many who aren't psychopaths.rp_photo wrote:This is another tragic case of "Familiar Danger", which further bolsters the statistic that one is far more likely to be harmed by someone they know than a random stranger.
