FL: Man kills two women in hospital room

Man walks through emergency room entrance, goes to third floor, enters a room and kills 88-year-old patient and 36-year-old hospital worker. Two unarmed security guards run in and subdue him.

According to the article he has been committed twice and has a criminal record of lesser offenses.

As a point of interest, to my knowledge Florida makes a felony to carry a weapon in a hospital, Unless otherwise authorized by law or by the authorities who run the hospital.

However, the Florida concealed weapons permit laws list places that license carry is not allowed, and hospitals are not on the list. Therefore, it appears that in Florida you can carry in the hospital if you have a concealed weapons permit.

I have read a case that was dismissed because of this, but to my knowledge this hasn't been thoroughly vetted in court.
