Hope the troopers get the murdering thug soon.

Prayers to the family and friends of the trooper.

The suspect was reported in custody in Waller County at around 9:00, after at least injuries from a K9 bite. Rumors of possibly his being shot also, but I have that as rumor only at this time. Good work by several agencies on taking the suspect into custody.

This morning in Mexia there was a DPS car behind me for a mile or two. I continued north on 14, he turned east on 84, in the general direction of Fairfield.

I have no idea if that was Trooper Allen.

Stay safe, all, with emphasis on those who serve.

Prayers for the fallen Trooper and his family. I sincerely hope they expedite the scum who killed him through the Huntsville process.

I heard this morning his services are being held at the Mexia High School stadium.

Trooper Allen was liked and respected. Losing someone like that is a crying, senseless shame.

Hindsight is 20/20, but this seems like a case where a judge used terrible judgement - http://www.wfaa.com/news/crime/judge-ex ... /495037714

Isn't Smith County one of those places where we're extra safe because the entire courthouse is posted, even though a CHL holder once lost his life defending the place? Just curious about the mindset there.
