Dam

And folks wonder why lots of us carry at home.....And being sure your weapon is ready as apparently this man made it to his weapon but it was not able to be deployed & used in time before the zombie who was high on mushrooms.......went to tomahawking him.

Glad he survived but lots of lessons to be learned learned here.....

An unloaded pistol isn't a self defense weapon. It may be "child safe" but it sure doesn't help you when an attacker with an hatchet is on your heels.
The left lies about everything. Truth is a liberal value, and truth is a conservative value, but it has never been a left-wing value. People on the left say whatever advances their immediate agenda. Power is their moral lodestar; therefore, truth is always subservient to it. - Dennis Prager

“He got his gun and checked to make sure the bullet was in there and he didn’t realize she was right behind him,” said Darrin. “The bullet didn’t go into the chamber all the way after he checked it or he would’ve turned and shot her.”
Sounds like an excellent example of why it's a good idea to carry with 1 in the chamber. Granted, this person wasn't carrying. But the issue he had could be what someone encounters in a self defense situation while carrying.

For a semi-auto, if you are not sure a round is in the chamber, just rack the slide and go. For most guns, that one round you might eject isn't important if you need to use the gun quickly. However, it sounds like he didn't realize the woman was so close.
