WTS: Custom 1911 Colt Commander
The wife says I have to sell something to fund another project so here we go, my loss is your gain.
I purchased this Colt Commander back in 2006 and had it customized before it was ever fired. It's been a while but I will try to list everything that was done as accurately as possible. All work was done by a professional gunsmith who specializes in 1911s.
- Slide and frame polished to smooth out the action
- Ed Brown magazine well and mainspring housing installed
- Ed Brown extended magazine release added
- Dark rosewood double diamond grips with gold Colt medallions added
- STI black trigger added
- Trigger job performed and the hammer drops clean at 4-1/2 pounds
- Ed Brown extended thumb safety added
- Slide machined and Kimber night sites added
- The pistol was then Teflon coated with a two tone black and silver finish. I wanted the Colt logos to stand out so I had the whole pistol coated and then the slide and frame were polished. All parts were removed and fine grit sand paper was paid out over a flat sheet of glass. The pistol's side were polished to remove the black Teflon on the sides by hand and give them a nice factory finish. This left the Colt logos and lettering black against a nice stainless slide.
After that the pistol had about one and a half rounds of ammunition put through it and then it went into the safe. Here are some photos I just took of it:
These sell new for just over $1000 plus tax and then I have $800 of very high quality add ons done to it. I am selling the pistol for $1300, or $500 off, not including the tax you'd pay on a new one and the work. I think this is a really great deal, and in a way I hope nobody buys it! But I've got to finish up a car project and I've blown my budget.
I can meet in Houston on the North Side for a face to face transaction if you have a CHL. If you'd like me to ship the pistol I can do that via FedEx and last time I did so was about $60 to Dallas. I've sold a lot of stuff on this forum so please search my old posts. Items are always in the condition stated or better.
If you are interested please PM me here and we'll go from there.

Re: WTS: Custom 1911 Colt Commander
That's a beautiful gun, but how to you shoot 1 and 1/2 rounds through a gun?

Re: WTS: Custom 1911 Colt Commander
Tam asked
1 round of .22 is 1/2 of .45.
Simple.
Shoot 1 round of .45 then put the .22 conversion kit on it and shoot one round. That's a beautiful gun, but how to you shoot one and a half rounds through a gun?
