The following handguns are availabe at Cabela's "Great Gear Sale", which runs April 10-21, 2014.

The ad I received was imprinted with the Cabela's stores in Fort Worth & Allen, Texas.
I have no idea whether any other Texas Cabela's are duplicating the handguns offered.

Primary sort = Revolvers/Semi-automatics
Secondary sort = Ascending by price, if the price is known. Many of these are $$xx dollars off a variety of prices.
I know the $$ off doesn't give you as much to go on, but it's all some of them had.

REVOLVERS.
Pieta Model 1851 Confederate Navy .44 black powder, brass frame w/ walnut grips, 7.5" octagonal barrel,
includes free spare cylinder. Was $249.99. This sale: $199.99.

Pieta Model 1858 New Army Target, .44, black powder, steel frame w/ walnut grips, 8.0" octagonal barrel,
Was $319.99. This sale: $249.99.

Smith and Wesson Bodyguard snubbie, 1.9" barrel, 5 rounds, .38 Special +P, integrated red laser sight
(brand of laser isn't mentioned). Was $479.99. This sale: $449.99.

SEMI-AUTOMATICS.
Hi-Point, 9MM/.40 S & W/.45 ACP, thumb-operated safety, lifetime warranty. Was $199.99. This sale: $179.99.

Zastava M88A, 9MM, 3.7" barrel, 8 round mag, used, $249.99.

Ruger SR9, 9MM, 4.125" barrel, 10 + 1, 3 mags are included. Was $499.99. This sale: $449.99.

Sig Sauer P238, .380 ACP, 2.7" barrel, 6 + 1, TFO fiber-optic sight, holster, $50 off whatever the usual price is.

Kahr's in .380 ACP, 9MM, .40 S & W, or .45 ACP. $20 off any new instock pistols.

Springfield Armory, 9MM/.40/.45 ACP, various models offered. $50 off any new instock pistols.

Sig Sauer P250, 9MM or .40, $50 off any of the various new instock models.

Ruger Mark III, .22 LR, $30 off any new instock models.

Happy shopping shootists. I hope someone sees something they like in the handguns above.

I have a Pietta model 1858 Remington New Army 44 with an 8 inch barrel. These 1858's are fun to shoot and accurate. I also have the same model Uberti on back order for a few month's now. Off hand, one armed "plincking" groups are well inside 8 inches at 50 feet with loose powder. These guns are well worth the money.

Plus Clint Eastwood makes it look cool changing cylinders in a gun fight...

Thanks for the movie clip.

I don't understand the whole "black powder" thing. I went shooting with a guy who
had a black powder pistol and it seemed like a lot of work to load the gun for just 1 shot.

So I was confused while watching the clip. "Switching out the cylinder"?

Then Clint fired multiple times.

Can you fill us in with some background here?

A muzzle loading revolver (Remington, I believe) works very much like a modern revolver except that the cylinder is loaded from the front. Just pull the cylinder pin, remove empty cylinder, then put in the preloaded full cylinder. Early version of a speed loader>> ;-)
