The following 10 handguns are listed in the Academy Sports and Outdoors
ad, valid for the dates of February 8-14, 2015.

Primary sort = Revolvers, then semi-automatic pistols.
Secondary sort = Ascending by caliber.
Tertiary sort = Ascending by price.

REVOLVERS.
Heritage Rough Rider, cowboy style, .22 LR, 6 rounds, SA, $189.99.

Smith and Wesson 642 Centennial Airweight, .38 Special, 5 rounds, DA, $679.99.

SEMI-AUTOMATICS.
Taurus 22 Small Frame pistol, .22 LR, 8 + 1 rounds, $179.99.

Beretta U22 Neos, .22 LR, 10 + 1 rounds, SA, $249.99.

Beretta Inox Neos, .22, 10 + 1 rounds, SA, $299.99.

Smith and Wesson 22A, .22 LR, 10 + 1 rounds, SA, $299.99.

Smith and Wesson M & P Bodyguard, .380 ACP, 6 + 1 rounds, DA, $349.99.

Smith and Wesson SDVE, 9MM/16 + 1; .40/14 + 1; DA, $299.99.
An extra magazine in either caliber for this pistol = $39.99. That seems excessive.

Smith and Wesson M & P full size, 9MM/17 + 1; .40/15 + 1; DA, $499.99.

The as&saw 642 must have CT grips or something like. I just bought a 642 at Ray's Hardware in Dallas for $399.00

Here are some competing budsgunshop.com prices: free shipping and no sales tax. My local FFL charges $10 for CHL.

Thanks to the above members for researching the
prices at other sites.

The ad doesn't show the 642 with a laser.

By the way, when I add these threads I don't do research
on each handgun to verify the specs. I simply take the data
from the ad and transcribe it.

I am not going to post regularly, just thought I'd offer people an alternative vendor to consider as well.

What started me looking at model numbers was the S&W 642. A base model 642 sells for $469 (list price) or $345 (street price). A quick look at the Academy model number showed it to be the Crimson Trace variant.

I love these threads also. I didn't mean for this to go off track. The only reason I mentioned is because of my purchase at Ray's in Dallas. I knew I had found a good price and I just could t imagine it being that good of a deal.

I trust of course that you are remitting use tax to the Texas Comptroller on your purchases.

If you buy something for use in Texas and the seller does not charge you sales tax, then you owe use tax on the item. It is the same rate as the sales tax.
