Is there any advantage to the red+green version or is it just personal preference? The green lasers seem easier to see but does that apply to reflex sights too? I'm considering putting a dot optic on my truck AR and it looks like this will take a beating and still work.

I thought I was buying the Red only model, but the link that was sent to me was the Red and Green version. I tested the green mode because I shooting a red target. I looked with both colors in bright sunlight and I think the green shows up better. I can think of outdoor scenarios where red might be preferred, i.e. hunting with grass and forest background.

:thumbs2: I ordered mine and it rocks! Not hesitant to order it because if it wasn't any good I was going to put it on my sons 22 rifle. But i am satisfied so far! Tanking it to the range this week

I just looked at Primary Arms and did not find that unit nor one like it.
Was it the same brand?

I ordered the mount through Amazon and it was delayed, then Amazon said it was available from another seller which was Primary Arms and it was there the next day. It was the UTG .83" can't recall the exact model. I finally got the first one delivered.

Primary Arms carries the riser mount, but they're out of stock.
UTG Med Pro riser - MNT RSO8S3 . I didn't check if Amazon has them.

Because of this thread, I bought one of these. Bought one of the UTG Hi-Profile Compact Riser Mounts, too. Took it to the range yesterday. Mounted it on my Kel-Tec Sub 2000. Zeroed it in. Then dismounted it and remounted it. Kept an acceptable zero. What a bargain. Makes it a lot easier - I don't have to lay my cheek on the Sub 2000 just to aim. It this lasts any time at all, I'm going to be a very happy customer!

I heard the siren song of these as well and we mounted one on the AR my oldest built for himself. Have to say that I'm impressed with the value vs function ratio!

I bought the red/green one and I'm very happy for the price. I may drop a c-note on a Bushnell or Primary Arms dot sight somewhere down the road, but I think they're all made in China anyway.

I've got some pictures to add to the discussion... Only took me 5 months...
I figured I would pick one of these up as well. I'm still very new to rifles, and this is my first AR. I wanted to get something without spending several hundred dollars so I could try and do some matches with something other than my irons. The red only version is $22, but I opted for the red + green version, as it was only $1 more and qualified for Prime free shipping. https://www.amazon.com/Field-Sport-Gree ... B00D4AYBR6 I'll definitely entertain a substantial upgrade later on when the rainbow decides to stop off at my house.
So, here it is being unboxed -- Overall I'm impressed, especially for $23. I picked up a $7 UTG .83" riser for it so that I could co-witness with my front post. Not sure if I will or not, but the option is there now.

Packaging is surprisingly good for a super budget optic...

The windage and elevation adjustments live under aluminum caps that screw over, and they have a rubber gasket to prevent water from getting into the body when they are screwed on.

This is the green and red dots on their lowest settings. Indoors it's great, but we will see how it does in full sun before too long hopefully! (Camera phone has issues focusing, it's pretty crisp in real life)

I took my Field Sport equipped M&P 15-22 for another outing to day. I had bought another 15-22 for my wife and she was shooting it for the first time so we were at the short range target stands on #3 range at PSC. Her rifle came with Magpul MBUS sights and she'd never shot aperture sights and it took a few before rounds to dialed it in. Once she got used to them she was shooting some nice groups and even some clusters. I decided to stay there and shoot mine with the R/G Field Sport Red Dot. I'd previously sighted it in. but had replaced the original M4 style sights with MagPul MBUS. It was shooting about 4" low so I adjusted to be 1" high at the short range. I think it's 15-20 yards and it was shooting tight litle 5 shot groups there. I shot at 50 yards and it shot 4-5 inches high. I'm scratching my head. Not a terrible 10 shot group (one flyer high left), but I can't explain why it's high. (the hole in the diamond was an inadvertent by my at the wrong target and I reused it after I marked it.) I seem to recall it shot this way the last time I had it out. Further investigation required.

I have to explain it to my son when I shoot high. The heat from the ground forces my bullet upwards! That opposed to crosswinds and sudden gravity pull, it should be a bull's-eye every time when I shoot :anamatedbanana
