Is anything at all actually being accomplished?
It just seems to me that there is nothing being accomplished except for wasting time. They do that pretty well!
Other states are passing laws right and left......
Our Legislatures are just waiting for lunch.

Far too many of those other states are passing wide and deep infringements on and unjustified limitations to the constitutional rights and freedoms of their citizens using the tyranny of the majority - the same way that Obama Care got passed. When it comes to the lasting impact of new law, I would rather nothing happen than the completely wrong thing. I believe that patience tempered with vigilance and a constant willingness to stand up for what we believe is the best way to proceed during this legislative session.
Some days are better than others, but every day is a good day.

Absolutely agree.
One of the very best things about the Texas legislature is that it's rarely in session!

Time for the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House to stand up and say this is what we want accomplished. Leadership accomplishes much. I am tired of silent legislative leaders!

Better that than making things worse, as has happened in other states.AEA wrote:It just seems to me that there is nothing being accomplished except for wasting time. They do that pretty well!
I am not a lawyer, nor have I played one on TV, nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, nor should anything I say be taken as legal advice. If it is important that any information be accurate, do not use me as the only source.

Based on the call to action emails I've received the last day or so the negative bills may have more steam than the positive ones. I hope this is not the case.Dave2 wrote:Better that than making things worse, as has happened in other states.AEA wrote:It just seems to me that there is nothing being accomplished except for wasting time. Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid.

I'm not trying to down-play the threat (because it certainly is real), but don't they necessarily have to sound a bit alarmist in those? I mean who's going to respond to a "call to action" that says everything's fine?jmra wrote:Based on the call to action emails I've received the last day or so the negative bills may have more steam than the positive ones.
