The First Special Session will be limited to a single topic per the governor's own homepage:

The special session will consider the following issue:

• Legislation which ratifies and adopts the interim redistricting plans ordered by the federal district court as the permanent plans for districts used to elect members of the Texas House of Representatives, Texas Senate and United States House of Representatives.

I read that he can add additional topics. Lets hope he adds some gun bills. Have already emailed his office requesting same.

Depending on what Governor Perry decides to do politically, this could be his golden opportunity to cement his staunch Second Amendment support and legacy. In which case, please be bold Sir and show what true 2nd Support is all about. Glad we have Gov. Perry!

I like the way you think. I hope he keeps the legislature in session until we get all the good stuff, or the Cowboys win the superbowl. :evil2:

Will have to be until we get the good stuff. Cowboys are 10+ years from even being in the super bowl :evil2:

Just checked TLO. Other bills not related to redistricting are being filed, such as HB12. What does this mean, Inquiring minds want to know.

Well as my Pa' always said, We're safe again from new laws at least today! When the legislature is in session any thing can happen! Looking forward to Sept 1st. Some new laws I like (like not having to worry about accidentally having your CCW noticed) others we'll hear about in up coming day's but hey, No new Taxes and a balanced budget is great news too.

Perry is not running for President this year so I'm sending a letter to him and prayers to the man upstairs.
