I carry a XD9 sub-compact in a CTAC and transfer it to a Safepacker by The Wilderness when I'm in the car for more than a few minutes. I seatbelt the Safepacker into the passenger seat for quick access and can carry it in my hand if I need to get out for a short time.

I will do that like from car to apt, or if im on a road trip, i usually have it handy but hidden somewhere, but if I go in a gas station, esp late, I'll hold it in my pocket w hand on grip, and finger run against the slide, ready to go.

I use the Safepacker as an "unholster" and carry the XD in it. It looks like a PDA carrier or something. With some practice it is realtivly quick to access. I can also put it on my belt and use it like a fanny pack. Take a look at the video at http://www.thewilderness.com

Usually one extra mag 135 gr. Hydra-Shok.
