Holster for a Taurus
I was wondering if anyone knows of a good holster for a Taurus 9mm slim 709? Thanks

For IWB, CompTac Minotaur MTAC is great, and made in Texas. A little pricier than Crossbreed, which would be my second choice.

Re: Holster for a Taurus
There are many "good" holsters.... but... It's impossible to make a useful suggestion without more information...
1. IWB or OWB or SOB or AIWB or Shoulder rig or.....?
2. How do you prefer to carry, or if you're experimenting/not sure, what method are you thinking about trying out that you're wanting a holster for? (sorry for the awful syntax there

Try the n82 tactical (nate-squared tactical). Its the most comfortable iwb holster I have worn!

Interesting ... I have not seen those before. I wonder if wearing a t-shirt would negate the effects of the suede friction (i.e. your shirt would simply be pulled down with the holster weight).a2thetony wrote:Try the n82 tactical (nate-squared tactical). I also have a Taurus 709 slim and I just ordered a White Hat Max Tuck holster. We'll see in a few weeks if it is suitable.

Re: Holster for a Taurus
I have 2, a kholster I don't use, ... and one I wear that's all kydex with a comptac clip I got from Rob Durham similar to the rip cord here
http://www.concealedtechnology.com/en/c ... rd-holster" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I wear it around the house, the slide release pinches skin between the slide release and holster when reholstering, other than that it's fine for yardwork etc but 2 clips are better than one most times and it only has 1... so its for in and around the house.... like right now
I'd get a CompTac Minotaur MTAC if I carried it away from home, but my XD45 and Glock 26 are my away from home primaries and Keltec P11 with a 12 round mag my 1st Backup, sometimes a PF9 as a 2nd backup and a 3rd and 4th backup occasionally and it starts getting a bit weighty to carry the PT709 too

Re: Holster for a Taurus
Just got my Crossbreed mini-tuck. It's sweet. So much more comfortable than the Fobus I have been using. Wife says the concealment is much better too, she couldn't tell which hip I had it on.
Also only took 3 weeks to get vs the possible 6 they quoted. Very nice product.

I have 709 & 740. Best all round holster I've found is the IWB DeSantis 106 Sof-Tuck with adjustable cant, rides high - and it's inexpensive to boot. I also have a DeSantis Insider (rides too low), Remora 4ART w/sweat shield which I really like (have ordered another with full sweat shield). Also have OWB DeSantis 019 Mini-Scabbard (has become my favorite summer time holster with untucked shirt) and a Fobus Evolution E2 PPS paddle (a bit bulky, but works).
