Modified my Supertuck and got a new mag holder (pic heavy)

Post by JAguirre »

So, Ive been playing around with the clip positioning and cant on my Supertuck, and I never got it to fit the way I wanted to. So, after looking at it, I had a Eureka moment....and for the Supertuck to work the way I want it to, it needed more forward cant. About 15 min later and two extra holes, the cant is perfect, the pistol disappears, and it is SUPER COMFORTABLE!!

When I got my CT grips, I did a "semi-combat cut", which meant trimming the Kydex to clear the laser and to expose a little more of the pistol around the grip...I basically looked at a pic of the combat cut Supertucks and followed the pattern, and took a little more off. This was relatively simply done with a pair of tin shears and fine rat tail file.

Also posting pics of a Hoffner's mag holder I picked up yesterday. Its awesome! It's all kydex, with an adjustable retention screw. The clip is strong, but flexible enough to be put on and removed without removing my belt.

So, without further adieu...here are the pics. Sorry for the grainy cell phone pics. If someone needs a detailed pic, just ask!! I'll dig out the camera.

Enjoy.

So what did you use to make new holes? I'd also like to add more forward cant to mine and probably trim away some leather on the front edge.

Are you carrying a Glock 26? Looks like good mods... nicely done! :thumbs2:

I'm guessing he used a hole punch similar to this... I've got one laying around the house somewhere and they work great for belts, etc. (when you need another hole because your belt shrunk) Ha!! :biggrinjester:

An ordinary drill will also work as long as you go slow and easy.

Nice work. it also helps to trim the bottom of the metal belt clips a little as well. Mine were digging into my leg just enough to bother me, a slight trim on the grinder solved that.
