Belt by Jerry Bissell

Post by C247 »

I haven't seen this maker's information posted on the forum before, but I know he was essentially made famous over on sigforum.com. I purchased a belt from him a couple weeks ago and was going to post a few pictures and my initial impressions. I see a lot of "Belts" related topics opened, typically asking what the most frugal approach to a gun belt would be. I'd definitely recommend everyone take a look at Mr. Bissell's $55 to the front door belts.

I worry those pictures will not do it justice. It's a double layered, stitched, hand crafted belt. I was really impressed by his workmanship and attention to detail. The sizing was pretty standard, measured from beginning of leather to hole used most often. I may have miscalculated on mine, and it's about a notch tighter than it should, but there's still room to adjust. I posted a picture of standard CompTac clips, to show that it's snug, but works.

Jerry himself seems to be a terrific guy and is very customer oriented. Ordering was a very simple process and the order was sent 2 days after the order was confirmed. (Tracked shipping and everything.) The package came with a printed note stating that he appreciated the business and if it didn't live up to expectations he would attempt to fix it.

Overall I was just very impressed by the belt and the gentleman who made it. I felt that he deserved a little more publicity on another forum and hopefully he'll gain a few more customers. ;-)

Jerry's belts are top notch and his customer service is even better. Turnaround is about 1 week.
Every time I wear one of his belts, which is anytime I wear a leather belt, I get compliments.
I own 4 or 5.
His price is excellent.

Is anyone seeing hyperlinked words in either of the two posts in this thread? I'm not talking about the link to the SIG forum.

Only hyperlinks I see are to the sig forum and in your signature.

Edit: The pictures appear to be hyperlinks, but I assume that's normal to link to a larger image.

It's malware called Text-Enhance and I have no idea how I got it. I'm running Norton Internet Security and SuperAntiSpyWare and the only thing I've loaded recently was another anti-malware to test something.

I'm not happy. :mad5

Here's an update. I found it camouflaged as an add-on to both Firefox and Internet Explorer. It was called "Vid Saver" and I was able to delete it on Firefox, but could only disable it on Internet Explorer.

See if it's installed in your ad/remove Windows programs.

It was and I uninstalled it there also. I'm worried that there will be register keys I need to delete also.

You can try HiJackThis. If you're fairly computer savvy it's not difficult to use. You can do damage if you remove the wrong things though. I'd be happy to walk through the logs with you if you have any problems with it.

Now I'm concerned.

Just from a technical standpoint, did I screw up something in my post or was it determined to be isolated to the one computer?

You didn't mess up anything; it appears to have only been a problem on my computer. The Text-Enhance.com malware apparently was installed when I loaded something else and it wasn't caught by Norton or SuperAntiSpyware.

Charles, you might run the free version of Malwarebytes and see if it catches something.

You can also run CCleaner from Piriform and have it clean your registry. It will allow you to make a backup of your current one so if it accidentally deletes a registry entry you need, you can restore the old one.

Those are good looking belts. Wonder how they compare to the Beltman's?
