+1 I have the Howard Leight Impact Sports which are a bit less than $50 and they work as well as my $200+ Pro Ears. I've converted to wearing them full time due to the narrower profile plus the batteries last longer (300 vs. 200 hrs) and are easier to find (AAA's vs. N-type). Search around as prices vary but <$50 should be easy.

Those electronic Howard Leight muffs are a great value. My only complaint is they're not as comfortable as my Peltor electronic muffs I bought years ago but the Peltor was 3-4x the price. The Leights are good for normal range trips but get uncomfortable when I do a multi-day class. Other than the fit issue, which is very subjective and personal, I highly recommend them and they're what I normally take to the range.

I should get another pair when I do my next Amazon order because the active electronics are great for new shooters. Shots and other loud noises are muffled but I can coach them in a quiet calm voice instead of shouting like a DI to get through standard muffs.
When in doubt
Vote them out!

Anyone have any tips to protect my sinuses from the guy firing massive .357 magnum revolver in the lane to my right? :fire :biggrinjester: Last time I was there, it seemed like every time he pulled the trigger, I felt it behind my nose and in my forehead. :eek6

I know exactly what you mean, I feel it anytime I'm at an indoor place. Last time out I ran some cheap ammo that was dirty and I kept inhaling the fumes.

I may have to try the custom plugs mentioned , I try to double up at indoor but the little sponges don't fit well
