Any idea of a good iwb holster I am...

Postby liberty2014 » Sun Dec 16, 2012 5:01 pm

Can anybody recommend a good iwb holster for me? I am 5'8" and about 275 pounds, I'm right handed so i plan to carry on my right side. I'm a big fan of kydex holsters so if you know of one that will work for a guy with my body type please let me know. Thanks and Gig em

i was 5'10 and 285 and carry IWB with a Crossbreed Supertuck.
I also have Crossbreed Snapslide OWB which carriers quite nicely.
Just make sure (regardless of your size, get a real gun belt, not just a thick belt from your local store.

Personal recommendations with experience:

Comp-Tac MTAC
CrossBreed SuperTuck
Comptac's full Kydex IWB (I think it's called the Infidel)
Milt Sparks Summer Special (leather)

I own 3 of the 4 above, and use them regularly. Several friends I know use the SuperTuck, and I've tried it a couple of times, and find it to be comparable in function to the MTAC.

You may as well have asked what's the best restaurant in Texas. That question has more answers than a standardized test. Good luck.

Another vote for the crossbreed supertuck

Milt sparks summer special is almost as good - I have both and almost never use my ss anymore, it will probably show up on the trade pages soon (and used it will bring enough to buy several more Crossbreeds)

Another Crossbreed Supertuck. Crossbreed is a great company. After 3 years of everyday carry the Kydex started to crack. I sent the holster back to Crossbreed and they sent me a brand new replacement free as they have a lifetime warranty.

It only took about 10 days.

Pretty much anything from http://www.Comp-Tac.com. My favorite is the Infidel.

If you like to support Texas businesses, try White Hat Holsters. Similar style and price to crossbreed, but made in Arlington. They have a lot of designs and colors of kydex available, and they can engrave the leather with text or design. If you send them a picture, they can put it on the kydex.
