Latest update:

Botach replied to me re-stating the 13-pack is their best price, and we should hurry to participate. Instead, I reached out to more vendors, including:

Gun Mag Warehouse
GrabAGun
Palmetto State Armory
Western Sport
Primary Arms
USCav
Precision Rifle Supply
AIM Surplus

More as I hear it.

Dicion - added ya. Thanks for that.

Here's an update:

Botach replied again to me on Friday and only said..."I would suggest taking this deal while supplies last. Our promotions run for a limited time. Please call me next week for further details."

I see very little effort on Botach's part to win our business here. From my own point of view, I really have no interest in buying from them, although I will do so if the overall group membership elects to do that. That said, only Magpul direct has the Texas edition. I have yet to hear from them.

I reached out Friday night to the following other vendors:

GunMag Warehouse
Grabagun
Palmetto State Armory
Western Sport
Primary Arms
USCav
Precision Rifle Supply
AIM Surplus

AIM Surplus replied Saturday morning (when they are usually closed, btw) so I do have pricing from them on standard & windowed mags. They get bonus points for speed of reply, and the thorough nature of the info they provided.

I will PM all interested parties the pricing I received from all vendors on Friday, October 10th 6pm CST. Only the winning vendor will have their price posted in the various threads I have going for this.

Still have not heard from Magpul directly, and that's the Texas ones I really want for myself.

@cajunautoxer

I hear you. What's funny is I am getting a much better response from group participants than some of the vendors out there. That makes No Sense (tm)

Smaller vendors would benefit from buying thousands of dollars of inventory and improving their account standing with their distributors. Bigger vendors still benefit from lower cost of fulfilling one order versus a bunch of orders. And if you treat a group right, the whole group comes back for more in the future.

Depending on price and minimum quantity, I would be interested.

I'm surprised the manufacturer hasn't replied yet, even if it was only to say they don't wholesale outside their distributor channels.

@gringo pistolero - how many should I list you as interested in?

Yeah, I am a bit bummed that Magpul has not replied to me yet. I like them a lot as a company - they have great big corporate cojones, as well as great products. I really hope to hear from them, especially since most interest is in the Texas edition mags.

In the meantime, I continue to reach out to other vendors...
  • MidwayUSA (I bought my reloading dies & other accessories from them)
  • Academy (local store with one particular gun counter employee who is excellent)
  • McBride's Guns (excellent LGS in Austin)
  • LaRue Tactical (I live very near to their HQ. I will visit them Monday morning)

Good luck with the negotiations, but at $7.68 there simply can't be much margin left to cut.

@TXlobo - I've got you down as interested in 5 Texas.

@jmra - agreed on the margin. That's yet another reason to try to source direct from Magpul. They'd still get their wholesale price, so they shouldn't care as much as the retailers would.

I'm interested in the Texas edition. Is there a link to an example? I'll be interested in seeing the final numbers. Thank you for doing this for us.

I'd be in for 5 Texas edition, or 5 Gen 2 MOE Standard in FDE if that's possible.

@LDB415 - Here are the sample links I have been using as my references...

http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG705/PMAG
http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG704/PMAG
http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG571/PMAG
http://store.magpul.com/product/MAG570/PMAG

@Scott B. - Got you down for 5 Texas. I will make a note on the FDE. The bulk of the interest I have had so far is mostly Texas, followed by standards, followed by windowed. Then any color requests - so those have been few & far between at this point.
