Police officer misplaces select-fire carbine

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Police officer misplaces select-fire carbine

#1

Post by seamusTX »

A SWAT team officer packing up after a hostage situation in Utah left an M4 carbine on the lawn of a home. A resident found it and reported it to the police.

The article doesn't say, but the M4 is a select-fire carbine.

I think I'd have taken 30 seconds to remove the firing pin before calling it in.

I would have been sorely tempted to take it to the range. ;-)

At least they didn't accuse the guy who found it of something. Things like that have happened.

I would have been sorely tempted to bury it in the cold cold ground.

For the children.

Irresponsible owners of semi-fully-automatic assault weapon rifle carbines are a danger to children, or haven't you heard? When one of those semi-fully-automatic assault weapon rifle carbines is left lying around on the ground in a residential neighborhood where The Children could find it, we must do everything to render it useless.

It's for the chidren!
