They really shouldn't allow guns in schools unless carried by trained professionals. A child could get hurt

The laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes.

Guns aren't toys but I guess they didn't tell him that. Now why did he take it out in the first place?

Just curious about this, but I think something is fishy. How do you fire a gun from on top of a desk and not injure anyone OR cause any damage to the school's property? Where did the bullet go?

The bullet went out the open window, passed across the schoolyard without incident and lodged in a tree trunk in a neighboring property.srothstein wrote:Just curious about this, but I think something is fishy. The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison

I dunno...it is a Glock. No safety except that little lever on the trigger. And don't forget Lee Paige...

Re: Constable ND?
Being suspended right off the bat is pretty serious. I don't like the term accidental discharge, but that sounds like one meaning it was not intentional. I wonder if he had qualified with the weapon yet? I have never heard of any department allowing one to carry a gun they had not qualified on and most would have their armorer inspect it prior to carry as well. If he was carrying w/o that being done, he is in a serious heap of trouble.

Sounds to me the Glock did exactly what it was supposed to do. Which is why I carry a Glock.

Re: Constable ND?
Sounds like the trigger was pulled. I'm guessing that he was about to field strip it and didn't make sure it was empty first. I'm not an expert but if the gun was loaded with more then one round, the mag was in place, and if there was truly a malfunction of the firing pin safety or the drop safety (trigger safety not an issue if trigger wasn't pulled) then wouldn't the gun have just kept firing until empty?
I'm predicting that the weapon did not malfunction, and either the deputy constable is lying or false information was given out by the constables office in an attempt to blame the gun.
Why it out of the holster in the first place?
