Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Police dog accidentally fires gun into Lawrence home
LAWRENCE, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) – A specially trained police dog accidentally fired a gun into a Crescent Street home while searching for the stolen firearm in a nearby snowbank.

The stolen firearm was reportedly buried in a snowbank by one of three suspects who were being sought by police. K-9 Ivan was called to the scene shortly after the incident occurred early Saturday morning.
This was too good not to post.

Let me see if I have this straight. When a human shoots a gun unintentionally, the gun "went off", but when a dog does it, the dog "hit the trigger with his paw"? So reporters really do know what is going on but choose to report "the gun went off".

When I worked K9's we had another dog team doing an article search for a handgun. The dog alerted on the gun, firing off one shot.

Is K-9 Ivan any relation to Crazy Ivan?

This and the sinkhole swallowing a man story have me impressed for the weekend.

But did he hit what he was aiming for? :evil2:

My mother asked: "So what are "they" going to ban now?" :grumble

Guys, we have to be charitable here. This was a Massachusetts police dog, and he probably barely passed his firearms qualification. Had this been a Texas or Oklahoma LawDog, he would have known to keep his booger-claw off the bang switch. It's all about training.
