A UTMB police officer was taken to the ER after reportedly being involved in a single-vehicle crash of an official vehicle. The officer reportedly was not injured.

At least it was a short trip.
The University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston has its own full-blown police department and vehicles, as many university facilities do. Although UTMB itself covers only about a quarter of a square mile, the university police patrol the adjacent parking lots and neighborhoods where many personnel live.
The UTMB campus also includes a TDCJ hospital facility. It's not unusual to see a patient shackled in a wheelchair.

Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.

accidents happen. the difference in police work is that if he is at fault, he will be disciplined up to termination.

That's true of most jobs.
I always wondered about pilots who ditch a $50 million aircraft. Do they get to walk away from that and keep their job?
