First contact with LEO in Dallas

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

First contact with LEO in Dallas

#1

Post by brentski »

I was in an accident where the over driver would not share insurance information with me until the police arrived. When the police arrived they spoke with the excited driver first and when it was my turn the officer asked for my DL and insurance and I passed both plus my CHL over. The officer then asked for my side and as we talked I was handed back my CHL with no discussion about it nor asked to disarm. Very nice and professional, thank you unnamed officer for courtesy and respect! Finished up in 15 more minutes and on my way.

That is about the same reaction I had with Dallas PD at an accident scene in 2000. Very calm and professional. It probably helped that I wasn't all wound up over the accident.

I won't be wronged, I won't be insulted, and I won't be laid a hand on.
I don't do those things to other people and I require the same of them.

Don’t pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he’ll just kill you.
