LEOs Remember: August 31st is approaching!

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

LEOs Remember: August 31st is approaching!

#1

Post by Charles L. Cotton »

This isn't really a LEO "Contact [or] Blooper," just a reminder to those of us who have to meet the TCLEOSE deadline of Aug. 31st to finish this cycle's 40 hrs of training. I just finished my last online course and I'm SO HAPPY IT'S OVER! It's far worse than my continuing legal education requirement for attorneys of 15 hrs. annually.

Charles, for us uninitiated, what's involved?

It's the continuing education requirement for people holding a Texas Peace Officer License. We have to have 40 hrs. every two years and the current 2 year cycle ends on Aug. 31st.

And I have not seen worse on-line training in a long time. It is so out of date that it is embarrassing. Finished the on-line courses on Sunday and took the legislative updates in person this morning.

I really need to get started on this earlier next time. Maybe I should go take the legislative updates class next month when it starts.

Aw, shucks, Mr. Cotton...I thought you were reminding them to get me something for my birthday on that day!

All done in plenty of time. Chas, get with me during this cycle about upcoming training. My department offers some great stuff in house.

I'll do that, thanks. I'm not going to wait until the last minute again! Will they let this old guy attend?

I spent a lot of money at Classen Buck this year... TX required me to take every class regardless if I have had them before out of state for the intermediate certificate... lotta $$$$$ and I didn't learn anything new.
