Speeding Ticket & LEO Bexar County

Most CHL/LEO contacts are positive, how about yours? Bloopers are fun, but no names please, if it will cause a LEO problems!

Speeding Ticket & LEO Bexar County

#1

Post by Pecos »

Well it happened. I never go over the speed limit. Today on Loop 1604 I just entered the 60 MPH zone and was still doing 70. Well I got a ticket (No Break)
My last ticket was 42 years a go. I just wasn't paying attention.
Anyway- I had my CHL & license in my hand & hands on the steering wheel. I handed it ho him & he ask if I was armed I told him I was. He asked me if I could take my gun out & lay it in the seat. I feel really stupid. CHL & I broke the law :nono: :cryin :cryin
:banghead:

Interesting....there have been numerous posts, over time, on this forum where the validity, and application, of posted speed limits (which is the law) has been questioned/challenged.

Thanks mojo84.
Your right innocent people do get tickets. As long as it doesn't affect my CHL Im OK with it. I will call tomorrow -they have an online defensive driving coarse I can take.

I bet you can get deferred adjudication since ours been so long since your last one. That would Dane you from having to sit through the defensive driving class.

I was guilty, it was my own fault I'm not going to challenge this. 1978 was my last ticket I was hopping I would get a warning ticket, But -Oh well. Not really a big deal just feels weird. Just needed to vent a little. :thumbs2:

Take your gun out and lay it in the seat? That's kinda weird.

You should probably go ahead and turn in your CHL and get on your knees and bow to the ground and repeat over and over: I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy! :biggrinjester:

Seriously, why would he think you are any less danger by placing it on the seat, assuming you are still sitting in the vehicle?

I'm not being judgmental with/to you, Pecos. Heckfire, I got one for the same reason on the Florida Turnpike in 1986 or so. I was funnin' those members who think that speed limits are not speed limits or otherwise don't apply to them.

That was weird. I told him where my gun was while seated. Im left handed. He ask me if I could take it out & lay it in the passenger seat. I told him it was a I took the molded paddle holster off & laid the gun holstered in the seat. (Glock19 one in the tube) It was more secure holstered. He then walked to the back of the car to look at my plates.
Then he asked me to step out & stand in front of his SUV while asking me if I had any warrants - DUH!!!! I have a CHL.LOL

No kidding that's exactly what he requested. Last week the DPS Trooper & Atascosa deputy told me to leave it on. (When I went to rescue my elderly uncle form a deer related accident) Heck I was walking all around with them that night(See other post).
